Class 2 Student Allegedly Sacrificed in Uttar Pradesh for School’s Prosperity
In a chilling incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, a Class 2 student, Kritarth, was allegedly killed as part of a “sacrificial ritual” intended to bring prosperity to DL Public School. The school owner, Jasodhan Singh, reportedly directed his son, Dinesh Baghel, and two teachers to carry out the act, which occurred on September 23.
Police investigations revealed that Kritarth was abducted from the school’s hostel, taken to a secluded location, and strangled when he woke up and began to cry. The gruesome murder has led to the arrest of Singh, Baghel, the principal Laxman Singh, and teachers Ramprakash Solanki and Veerpal Singh. A murder case has been registered, and a post-mortem confirmed the cause of death.
Further inquiries revealed that the school, running without proper authorization, had previously attempted a similar sacrifice on September 6, which failed when another child raised an alarm. Evidence of black magic practices was found at the site, including ritual materials and a rope.
The child’s father, Krishan Kushwaha, expressed his outrage upon discovering his son’s lifeless body in Baghel’s car during a pursuit to uncover the truth behind his son’s alleged medical emergency. National and state child rights bodies have taken notice, promising thorough investigations into the incident, emphasizing the need to safeguard children from such superstitious beliefs.
Political leaders condemned the heinous act, with calls for stricter regulations against superstition and witchcraft, highlighting that despite advancements in society, such practices continue to pose a grave threat to children’s safety in the region.
